OFSTED
We have had some marvellous news ! We have recently had an Ofsted inspection. It was in September 2006. We received a one day inspection – a light touch inspection – because our school consistently achieves high results at the end of KS1. However, the inspection was still very challenging. It turned out to be exciting too. We were graded ‘outstanding’ in every area of the inspection. Here are some quotes from the report: · Pupils thoroughly enjoy their learning because the school has developed an outstanding curriculum. Teaching is also outstanding · Excellent care, guidance and support are given to the pupils. There is a strong focus on teaching children to express their feelings · The effectiveness of the school is underpinned by outstanding leadership at all levels. The headteacher’s clear vision for the school is being fulfilled as is shown by the excellent provision, pupil’s great enjoyment and their excellent achievement. · Pupils reach exceptionally high standards by the end of Year 2. Results in reading, writing and mathematics are among the highest in the country, a position which has been maintained over many years. Standards are also high in information and communication technology. We are delighted that the commitment and hard work of the staff, governors and children has been recognised and praised. Gill Harradine, our Headteacher said ‘Everyone so deserves to have their hard work and commitment confirmed. Outstanding is the highest commendation we could have received. It has given us all a real boost and made us even more determined to continue to mix excellence with enjoyment.’ Click here to go to OFSTED'S website.
