Welcome to Lilac Class!

We have been busy this term thinking about the topic NIGHT.  We have been reading lots of lovely stories about night and one of our favourite was Can't you sleep little Bear?  We made a whole class collage for our wall.  Can you see the beautiful stars in the sky?

 We also read about space and learnt about the first man walking on the moon.  We decided to make some junk model rockets and hung them from our ceiling in the classroom.                                     

We then blasted into space and found ALIENS with the help of Bob and his Alien spotter's guide story.  We painted pictures of our aliens and wrote about them.  Do you think our aliens look friendly or scary?   

We looked at different artists who painted pictures about starry nights and tried to recreate our own Starry Night pictures.  We used pastels to create these and loved smudging the pastels to give the smoky effect.

We also discussed the Jewish festival of Sukkot and created a Sukkah Shelter. Can you see how many  different types of fruits we drew and coloured to hang inside?

We have just come to the end of a very busy term and have had great fun doing lots of Christmas activities too, espcially our Christmas Production In time for Christmas.  We are looking forward to coming back in the new year to find out about our next topic - Up up and Away.
