Autumn Term and we welcomed the reception children to our class.

Our topic is Rhyme and Rhythm

The reception children all started happily and very quickly settled in to the school routine. They painted pictures of themselves in their new uniform and we all agreed how smart Blue Class looks.

The children have been looking at different stories as a stimulus for their learning. One of their favourite rhyming books is 'Walking Through the Jungle' and they have painted pictures of their favourite jungle animals. Can you make the noises of each animal?

'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?' is another story we all like, especially when we join in with the rhyme. Can you work out the different materials we have used for each animal?

We have had a lot of fun exploring the Outside classroom and Woodland Walk areas of our school. During the autumn we have been learning about the changes which occur during different seasons. We used books from our school library to find out about the animals that hibernate.

The Year 1 children have been sharing stories and talking about their likes and dislikes of each one.  They chose one of their favourite books to write a short synopsis and have displayed them in our class book corner.

We have all had a very busy time and continue to enjoy ourselves looking forward to the Spring term when we will be learning about Traditional Tales and Celebrations. We hope you enjoy looking at our work.
