Welcome to Aqua Class!
The summer term has been very busy! We have been learning about the sea and visited the London Aquarium. The shark tank was amazing! The sharks came up so close that you could see their huge sharp teeth. We loved looking at the tiny seahorses and we touched starfish and sea anemones in the touch pool. Look at our clay models we made of sea creatures.

It tells the story of how Mowser (the cat) calms the storm cat so that the fishing boat can return safely to the harbour. We used pastels to draw our own stormy sea pictures and wrote poems to describe the waves crashing against the jagged rocks.

We used the laptop computers to create posters advertising Mr Grinling's job and found pictures to illustrate our work. Luckily, Mr Grinling didn't get the sack. He became a part time lighthouse keeper instead.

It was a memorable evening. Book Club has been a great success. We met in our brilliant new library. All the group have enjoyed reading a special book each week and talking about which one was the best. We each received a certificate for being such enthusiastic readers. In our Leaver's Assembly we shared some of the highlights of the year with our parents and sang to them. Our mums and dads were very proud of us. We had to pass the tissues round! For our end of term concert the whole school joined to sing songs about minibeasts. This year we had the grand opening of the garden. We are such lucky children! We will miss Banstead Infant School but are looking forward to going to our new schools. Happy holidays everyone! Contact Aqua Class at: aqua.class@banstead-infant.surrey.sch.uk |
